How to Set Up Click-to-Call in Odoo CRM (2026)

Click-to-call in Odoo turns every phone number in the CRM into a one-click dial. It's the single fastest quality-of-life improvement you can make for an Odoo sales team. This guide walks through the setup on both Enterprise and Community, including the SIP configuration reps consistently get wrong the first time.

What you need before you start

  • Odoo 15+ (any edition).
  • A SIP account — Axivox on Enterprise, or any provider on Community (Twilio, Telnyx, Ringover, 3CX).
  • One SIP extension per Odoo user who will dial.
  • A working microphone in Chrome, Firefox or Edge (WebRTC required).

Setup on Odoo Enterprise (Axivox)

  1. Enable Settings → General Settings → Enable VoIP.
  2. Enter your Axivox WebSocket URL and login credentials at the company level.
  3. Open each user's Preferences → VoIP tab and enter their SIP login, password and extension.
  4. Reload Odoo. A phone icon appears next to every phone number.
  5. Click a number on a lead. If the browser asks for microphone access, grant it — that's the WebRTC prompt.

Setup on Odoo Community

  1. Install a VoIP module from the App Store — Ringover, Aircall, 3CX or a Twilio-based module.
  2. Configure the SIP provider credentials as the module documents.
  3. Assign each user an extension in their preferences.
  4. Test a call from a res.partner record.

Troubleshooting

  • No dial icon appears — Enable VoIP is off, or the user has no extension configured.
  • Call rings once then drops — codec mismatch. Force G.711 (PCMU/PCMA) in both Odoo and the SIP provider.
  • Chatter isn't logging calls — the VoIP module isn't linking the call to res.partner. Check that the number is in E.164 format (+15551234567).
  • Recording is empty — recording is enabled in Odoo but the SIP provider isn't returning the file URL. Confirm the recording setting in the SIP admin.

Do I need Odoo Enterprise for click-to-call?

No. Community supports click-to-call via App Store modules (Ringover, Aircall, 3CX, Twilio). Enterprise ships the Axivox integration pre-installed.

Yes, in the Odoo mobile app on iOS and Android with the Enterprise VoIP module. Community mobile depends on the specific third-party module.

Why does my browser block the SIP call?

Modern browsers require HTTPS and explicit microphone permission for WebRTC. Serve Odoo over HTTPS and grant mic access when prompted.
