How to Set Up Click-to-Call in Odoo CRM (2026)

What you need before you start
- Odoo 15+ (any edition).
- A SIP account — Axivox on Enterprise, or any provider on Community (Twilio, Telnyx, Ringover, 3CX).
- One SIP extension per Odoo user who will dial.
- A working microphone in Chrome, Firefox or Edge (WebRTC required).
Setup on Odoo Enterprise (Axivox)
- Enable Settings → General Settings → Enable VoIP.
- Enter your Axivox WebSocket URL and login credentials at the company level.
- Open each user's Preferences → VoIP tab and enter their SIP login, password and extension.
- Reload Odoo. A phone icon appears next to every phone number.
- Click a number on a lead. If the browser asks for microphone access, grant it — that's the WebRTC prompt.
Setup on Odoo Community
- Install a VoIP module from the App Store — Ringover, Aircall, 3CX or a Twilio-based module.
- Configure the SIP provider credentials as the module documents.
- Assign each user an extension in their preferences.
- Test a call from a res.partner record.
Troubleshooting
- No dial icon appears — Enable VoIP is off, or the user has no extension configured.
- Call rings once then drops — codec mismatch. Force G.711 (PCMU/PCMA) in both Odoo and the SIP provider.
- Chatter isn't logging calls — the VoIP module isn't linking the call to res.partner. Check that the number is in E.164 format (+15551234567).
- Recording is empty — recording is enabled in Odoo but the SIP provider isn't returning the file URL. Confirm the recording setting in the SIP admin.
